Dr. Jamie Hanson is seeking a full-time lab manager/research assistant to join the Learning Research & Development Center, and the Department of Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh starting October 15, 2016 (start date is flexible). The successful candidate will work with Dr. Hanson studying how life experiences influence reward and emotion brain circuitry. Primary responsibilities will include recruiting, screening, and scheduling participants for research studies; assisting with data collection (behavioral, MRI); managing and analyzing data; and general lab management and administrative duties (assisting with IRB protocols, supervising undergraduate RAs, stimulus development).
Qualifications include a BA/BS in psychology, social work, cognitive science, neuroscience, computer science, or related areas, and excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Applicants should also be comfortable interacting with participants from a variety of demographic groups (e.g., healthy children, adolescents, and adults; underserved families). Preference will be given to candidates with prior neuroimaging research experience and strong technical skills (e.g., AFNI, FSL), although this is not a requirement.
