The Rhode Island Consortium for Autism Research & Treatment (RI-CART) is looking for a highly organized and energetic person serve in a data management capacity. RI-CART is an exciting and unique state-wide research consortium and patient registry effort. Since its inception in 2013, RI-CART has enrolled over 1,000 individuals into the patient registry, and has developed strong partnerships with community providers and stakeholders. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work as part of a growing multidisciplinary team. In addition to work on the RI-CART consortium, this position will also work on the Autism Precision Medicine Program that is part of the Hassenfeld Child Health Innovation Institute (HCII) based at Brown University. The Specifics of the job are as follows:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/MIS or related field, or Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related fields and relevant experience; Knowledge of statistical analysis; Two years of database development and data management work. Exposure to data analysis, data management and documentation, preferably in a research or academic environment. Candidate with research experience and SPSS and REDCap programming experience preferred.
Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator and Project Coordinator, analyzes and defines the informational requirements of the Rhode Island Consortium for Autism Research and Treatment (RI-CART; www.autismri.org ) and the new Hassenfeld Child Health Innovation Institute at Brown University (www.brown.edu/initiatives/child-health), and designs systems and processes to meet those needs. Coordinates daily database activities, supports staff in data analysis, and serves as liaison with Information Services on systems development and utilization. Serves as data management project lead for assigned research project team(s) to develop operational databases for data collection and study participant tracking, using a variety of software programs. May perform basic statistical analysis and reporting. Documents, maintains, and ensures the confidentiality and integrity of the data. Provides a variety of reports summarizing research data.
Position involves data programming, management, and processing for multiple research projects focused on Autism Spectrum Disorder and related developmental disorders. Primary responsibilities involve creating data entry and electronic data capture systems, managing multiple large databases, data processing, data quality control, oversight of data entry and cleaning, basic statistical analysis, and preparation of graphs and tables. Experience with programming in REDCap, SPSS, and Access are preferred. Knowledge of statistical analyses in SPSS is preferred. Opportunities to assist with manuscript preparation are available if desired. Position involves working within a multidisciplinary research team.
