The Social Cognitive Development Lab at Yale University is seeking a lab manager/research coordinator
to begin early summer (May/June) 2016.
The position is full time and a two year commitment is strongly preferred. It comes with full benefits and is extendable beyond the first two years depending on fit.
Our lab focuses on intergroup social cognition; major research areas include the origins of intergroup bias, the principles underlying social categorization and ideas about fairness and inequality, and the perceptual components of intergroup categorization. Responsibilities include recruiting, scheduling, and testing child and adult research participants; coordinating a large team of graduate and post-doctoral researchers; building partnerships with and conducting research at local schools and museums; managing a participant database; training and coordinating undergraduate research assistants; purchasing and setting up lab equipment; and additional research and administrative duties as they arise.
The position offers substantial research experience and the potential for co-authorship on posters and manuscripts as well as the possibility of international research travel. The job would be ideal for someone highly motivated to undertake graduate study in psychology or the cognitive sciences.
