CHILD AND FAMILY RESEARCH in the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) investigates dispositional, experiential, and environmental factors that contribute to physical, mental, emotional, and social development in human beings in the first two decades of life. DUTIES: The research assistant will aid in literature reviews, subject recruitment, data collection, and behavioral coding for a study of children’s play with toys. This study is the result of an inter-agency agreement between NICHD and the Consumer Product Safety Commission to investigate the developmental characteristics, safety, and age appropriateness of child play with toys.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in psychology or related field, with experience and expertise in working with children, collecting data, and subject recruitment. Competence in multitasking, excellent organizational, written, and oral communication skills are required, as is the ability to work independently and in collaboration.
