Arts and Mind Lab
The Arts and Mind Lab directed by Dr. Ellen Winner is hiring a full-time lab manager to coordinate research with both adults and children on psychological studies of the arts, including the visual arts, music, theater, and dance. The position entails helping to develop new studies, writing of IRB applications, recruiting participants, testing of children at the Boston Museum of Science and the Boston Children’s Museum and in schools, and supervising undergraduates working in the lab. This position provides extensive research experience with the potential for co-authorship of papers.
Preferred start date is mid-June. The position is full time for two years with full benefits, potentially extendable depending on fit. This position is excellent for a student interested in pursuing graduate study in psychology. Applications will be reviewed as they arrive, until the position is filled.
Applicants should have strong organizational and multitasking skills, and should be comfortable managing and coordinating undergraduates. Previous research experience (including data analysis skills with SPSS) in a psychology lab is required. An interest and background in one or more art forms is desirable but not required. Interested applicants should email a cv and cover letter indicating research experience and career goals to Jenny Nissel at firstname.lastname@example.org.
