About the Campaign for Youth Justice
The Campaign for Youth Justice is a non-profit organization with the mission of which is to end the practice of trying, sentencing, and incarcerating youth under 18 in the adult criminal justice system. The strategic goals of CFYJ are to reduce the total number of youth prosecuted in the adult criminal justice system and to decrease the harmful impact of trying youth in adult court, especially the placement of youth in adult jails and prisons. The Campaign utilizes both federal and state-level strategies for youth justice reform.
CFYJ is an agent of change in a number of states, working in partnership with state-based advocates on youth justice reform campaigns and including the voices of those most impacted in reform efforts. The Campaign serves as a clearinghouse of information about youth prosecuted as adults and makes its research and communications resources available to those interested in learning about and taking action to end prosecution and incarceration of children as if they were adults.
