Infant Studies Lab at University of Notre Dame Summer Intern Program

The Infant Studies Lab at the University of Notre Dame, under the direction of Dr. Jill Lany, is accepting application from highly motivated undergraduates and graduating seniors for our Summer Intern Program. The goal of this unpaid internship is to provide hands on research experience to students interested in pursuing graduate work in Cognitive and Language Development or a related field. Our lab employs behavioral methods such as Looking-While-Listening and the Head-Turn Preference procedure to investigate how infants learn languages and how they pick up patterns from the environment. We are also collecting measures of speech to infants using the LENA system. To learn more about our lab, please visit: http://nd.edu/~babylab/Infant_Studies_Lab

Applicants should have a background in psychology or related fields. Past research experience and basic computer skills are preferred. Daily tasks might include recruiting participants over the phone, coding recorded videos, and aiding in collecting and processing data. Successful applicants will be mentored by a graduate student or the lab manager, and will play an integral role in our ongoing projects.

All internships begin on June 1st and are for a minimum of 20 hours/week. 8 week, 9 week, and 10 week internships are available. Please indicate your preference in your cover letter. To apply, please send a resume and a cover letter detailing relevant coursework and research experience to our lab manager, Maddy Oswald, at moswald2@nd.edu by March 15th, 2015. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
