TITLE/RANK Assistant Professor, Developmental Psychology
The Department of Psychology at Montclair State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Developmental Psychology to begin September 2017. This position is ideal for a candidate whose research contributes to the understanding of development in childhood and/or adolescence, and relates broadly to other strengths in the department including social psychology, perception and cognition, neuroscience, psychometrics and statistics, or clinical applications. We are particularly interested in a scholar who focuses on development in middle/late childhood/adolescence, including research areas such as development of self, peer relationships, bullying, gender development, moral development, etc. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and evidence of scholarly productivity commensurate with experience. Doctorate in developmental psychology or experimental, cognitive, social psychology, with a focus in developmental, is required; post-doctoral experience is highly desirable. Experience with grant writing, and successful grant applications are also highly desirable. Applicants should expect to teach courses with commitment to the undergraduate, M.A. Psychology, and combined BA/MA 5 year program. Candidates will be expected to develop an active research program leading to publication with undergraduates and graduate students.
QUALIFICATIONS: Ph.D. in psychology or related field with focus in developmental psychology.
