The Department of Psychology at Montclair State University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in school or clinical child psychology, with open rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor), to begin in September 2017. We specifically seek applicants with a child/adolescent research focus. Responsibilities include teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, conducting an active research program, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and providing service to the University and professional community.
Montclair State University is a public doctoral research university (R3) located approximately 30 minutes from New York City. The Psychology Department comprises more than 25 tenure-track and tenured faculty members and more than 15 highly active research labs. Recently, the Department opened a new graduate training clinic in the Center for Clinical Services, a 25,000 square foot facility with several research labs and 24 assessment/treatment rooms featuring state- of-the-art camera technology. The graduate programs in school psychology and clinical child psychology are among the largest in the University, and we seek applicants who will contribute to teaching and mentorship in these thriving programs.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Doctoral degree from an APA-accredited program in clinical psychology, school psychology, or related field. Applicants should be licensed or license eligible in New Jersey.
The ideal candidate should have demonstrated excellence in teaching, evidence of research productivity commensurate with experience, and the potential to attract extramural funding. Applicants seeking appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level should have a well- established history of research productivity, including consistent external funding (preferably including current grants) and a strong record of teaching and mentoring graduate students. Candidates with experience in graduate program leadership are encouraged to apply.
