The incumbent serves as the principal data analyst and team leader on all forecasting and simulation projects for the Department of Juvenile Justice. This includes developing forecasts with simulations and time series models. The incumbent coordinates forecasting activities in conjunction with appropriate administrators and provides assistance and leadership to other staff members in forecasting activities. Additionally, the incumbent develops and maintains the department’s long-range forecasting models for state and local responsible juvenile offender populations, and also develops simulation models for the state responsible juvenile offender population for designated periods. Under the direction of the unit manager and research supervisor, the incumbent develops queries and procedures in SQL to assess needed data and conducts comprehensive analysis in response to routine and ad hoc report and data requests from state agencies and others outside of state government.
