Call for applications for tenure-track positions at the department of psychology

The Psychology Department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is seeking excellent candidates for tenure-track positions. The department is at the forefront of psychological research and is committed to excellence in research and in graduate and undergraduate teaching.  The Hebrew University, with approximately 20,000 students, provides a strong foundation of resources to support all faculty members’ research programs. The department has a strong basis in experimental and clinical psychology, with over 20 experimental laboratories employing behavioral, genetic, pharmacological and neuroimaging methods in humans and in animal models. We encourage interdisciplinary research and boast multiple intra-departmental collaboration as well as national and international collaborations.

The department is in the process of expanding both the number of faculty members and its space.  We anticipate making several academic tenure-track appointments (rank commensurate with qualifications and experience), for positions starting in the academic years of 2017-2018. The appointments are subject to budgetary approval.

Positions will be considered in all fields of psychology based on merit. We are especially interested in candidates in the domains of psychobiology, quantitative psychology, clinical psychology, neuropsychology, developmental psychology and social psychology. New recruits are supported by adequate startup funds to initiate their research, as well as lab space as required. All faculty members are expected to obtain financial support for their research from extra-mural competitive grants in Israel and abroad over time.

Candidates are expected to have a PhD and post-doctoral training in relevant fields, and to show excellent track-record for their stage of career. Interested candidates should submit a letter of application, curriculum vitae, statement of research, statement of teaching interests, a sample of reprints and preprints and three letters of reference.
