Dr. Lisa Gennetian, of NYU’s Institute of Human Development and Social Change (IHDSC) and the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), seeks a full- or part-time researcher, who may be a pre- or post-doctoral student to support the application of behavioral economic strategies to support parent engagement in ParentCorps. Developed by Dr. Laurie Brotman, ParentCorps is a family-centered school-based program to help young students develop skills for learning and is being offered as an evidence-based enhancement to Pre-K for All programs in New York City. beELL-ParentCorps is a collaboration with Dr. Brotman (and team) and will be one of several recently launched initiatives of beELL applying insights from the behavioral sciences to early childhood and public health interventions throughout New York City. The position will support the development and design of behavioral economic enhancements—blending the conceptual framework of social psychology with economics—and, second, will help co-lead implementation and experimental testing of behavioral economic design components to support parent uptake and engagement in the ParentCorps program.
