NIJ is hiring a detail to lead a new initiative to build in-house research capacity in law enforcement agencies.
NIJ is committed to empowering law enforcement agencies to answer their high-priority research questions and conduct their own analysis of crime statistics. In working towards this goal, we’re developing a groundbreaking program to improve agencies’ in-house research capacity to both generate and apply research results.
We are seeking a Chief Research Advisor to lead the development and implementation of this program. The applicant must be a social science researcher with a commitment to partnering with law enforcement agencies to produce practical, impactful research and analysis that address the field’s highest priorities and advance its policies and practice.

This opportunity is available as a two-year detail via the Intergovernmental Personnel Act with a potential renewal for one additional year. NIJ expects applicants to be available to start no later than September 1, 2016.
