The Psychology Department at Northwestern University seeks to hire two professors for tenure-track positions in the area broadly defined as Diversity Science. One hire will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, and the other is open to any rank. Diversity Science extends psychological science to understudied populations, including (but not limited to) racial/ethnic minorities, persons from lower socio-economic classes, persons with disabilities, individuals with minority sexual orientations, and individuals from diverse cultures. We welcome scientists from the full range of disciplines and areas that comprise contemporary psychological science. We particularly welcome applications from scientists whose work addresses the role of cultural, racial/ethnic, or socioeconomic identities, contexts, and processes in the domains of particular emphasis in our department: cognitive and affective neuroscience, human development, personality, health, psychopathology, and cognitive and social processes. Overall, we seek applicants whose research, teaching, and service will contribute to the Department’s diversity mission, while integrating with and complementing exiting Department strengths.
A Ph.D. or other terminal degree is required. Interested candidates should submit electronically a statement of research interests, curriculum vitae, and copies of recent publications through the online application found athttp://www.psychology.northwestern.edu/people/faculty/job-opportunities.html. Three letters of recommendation will also be required, and can be submitted by letter writers directly through the same website. Inquiries may also be addressed firstname.lastname@example.org. Our department has a strong commitment to the principle of diversity and especially encourages women and minority applicants to apply. Review of applications will begin on October 15 for the Assistant Professor Position and on December 1, 2015 for the open-rank position. Applications will be accepted until both positions are filled.
