Assistant Professor with Expertise in Children’s/Adolescents’ Social Networks

The Sanford School of Social and Family Dynamics, an interdisciplinary unit at Arizona State University (http://thesanfordschool.org), invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position with expertise in Children’s/Adolescents’ Social Networks to begin Fall of 2016 (job number 11312). The successful candidate will be expected to deliver instruction consistent with the mission of the unit, conduct quality publishable research, and advance the unit, institution, and profession through engaged service. For this position, successful candidates must have a PhD or equivalent in human/family development, psychology, sociology, or a related area by the time of appointment and an accomplished record of publications relevant to the longitudinal analysis of children’s/adolescents’ social networks. Candidates’ research must show evidence of contributing to both developmental science and social network methodology. Candidates must also have demonstrated excellence in teaching. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated ability to mentor graduate students and to teach social network analysis at the graduate level. Preference will also be given to those whose work shows potential for successful external funding.
