Child Development Psychology Laboratory at the Jagiellonian University Institute of Psychology

The Child Development Psychology Laboratory at the Jagiellonian University Institute of Psychology is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position and Ph.D. student position. The positions are embedded in a project on the “Stability and Continuity in the Development of Theory of Mind in Middle Childhood. Trajectories and Predictors of Development“. The project is founded by the Polish National Science Centre.

The main aim of the project is to describe the trajectories of development of theory ofmind in children over the age of 4, i.e. so-called advanced theory of mind, as well as the communicative, cognitive and linguistic predictors of stability and continuity of theory of mind in this period of development. The project will start in autumn 2016.

Applicants with interest and experience in behavioural studies of children’s development of social cognition are especially encouraged to apply. Command of Polish is an advantage, but is not mandatory.

Requirements (Postdoc). Candidates should have: (a) a Ph.D. in psychology or a related field, ideally with a focus on social-cognitive development of children, (b) experience in conducting research with children, (c) experience in analyzing and publishing data, and (d) strong organizational skills.
