GRINNELL COLLEGE invites applications for a two-year research postdoctoral fellowship in Neuroscience in the laboratory of Professor Mark Levandoski (start Fall 2015, or earlier if available).  Eligible candidates will have completed a Ph.D. by the start date in Neuroscience or related field such as Biochemistry, Biophysics or Pharmacology.  Current work in the Levandoski laboratory focuses on allosteric modulation of neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors.  The fellowship includes a full-time salary, benefits, and support for research and travel.  Grinnell College is a highly selective undergraduate liberal arts college, where faculty are committed to excellent teaching and scholarly productivity.  The Colleges curriculum is founded on a strong advising system and close student-faculty interaction, with few college-wide requirements beyond the completion of a major.  The College also supports student-faculty research.  This postdoctoral fellowship is a research position, but opportunities to teach are available for candidates interested in such experience.

In letters of application, candidates should discuss their previous scientific training and interests in Neuroscience. If interested, candidates can discuss their interest in developing as a teacher and scholar in an undergraduate liberal arts college.  They should also discuss how they might contribute to a college community that has diversity—of people, personal and educational experiences, and disciplinary perspectives—as one of its core values.  To be assured of full consideration, all application materials should be received by June 15, 2015.  Please submit applications online by visiting our application website at Candidates will need to upload a letter of application, curriculum vitae, transcripts (copies are acceptable), and provide email addresses for three references.  Questions about this position should be directed to Professor Mark Levandoski, at or 641-269-3172.
