Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Specific Language Impairment (SLI) at Barcelona (Spain)

The Research Group in Cognition and Language (GRECIL), directed by Llorenç Andreu and Mònica Sanz  at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) located at Barcelona (Spain), seeks one candidate for a postdoctoral research fellowship position. The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in several related studies that focus on language processing using eye tracking in children with Specific Language Impairment (SLI). The postdoctoral fellow will be directly involved in all aspects of this research, including design, implementation, and dissemination activities; and will supervise research assistants and coordinate laboratory activities.  Applicants should have experience in one or more of the following areas:

• Specific Language Impairment (SLI)

• Eye Tracking

• Advanced Statistics

Those interested in applying need to take into account that research staff with postdoctoral contracts at the UOC have to dedicate themselves exclusively to the UOC and, thus, cannot have contractual or statutory links that might affect their exclusive dedication to the research. Under no circumstances can those benefiting from these contracts have been contracted by the UOC in the two years immediately leading up to the publication of these calls for applications.

Likewise, candidates must have obtained their doctoral degree after 1 January 2008 and before the deadline for applications.

Being awarded one of these grants requires the signing of a postdoctoral employment contract for a year – which can be extended for up to three – for 30,000 euros gross per annum, which will be subject to the withholdings established in the current legislation.

The period of presentation of solicitudes and of the required accompanying documentation will be open until February 25, 2015. The following documents must be attached with the email solicitude:

·Identity card or passport.
·Curriculum Vitae.
·A copy of the official doctoral degree.
·A letter of reference

The postdoctoral contract will come into force on 1 June 2015 and all those benefiting from one will have to start work at the research centre on this same day.
